4th and inches

I'll just say initially I wanted to see Nolan go for it. Worst case you don't get it and St. Louis has the ball DEEP in their own territory. However, they would only need a field goal so the field goal is practically cut in half. I would have had no problem with going for it on 4th down, but I'll take a 5 point lead. The defense has a chance to continue to make a name for itself.

And Bryant Young with the sack. THAT is what I'm talking about.

Nolan should have gone for it. By kicking the field goal, he's showing a lack of confidence in his offensive line. Although Gore got injured in today's game, we had plenty of man power that could of broken through the line. Nolan made the same call last week and I he was lucky our defense was able to minimize the damage. Seattle almost caught up. All I'm saying is Nolan needs to grow a sack!

Nolan made the right call. Take the points, show faith in your defense. ANYTHING can happen on 4th and inches. I don't know a coach in the NFL that would have made a different decision.

I just finished listening to that idiot Damon Bruce on KNBR. My lord how I miss Larry Krueger! Bruce and his syncophants spent the whole show whining about the 4th and inches call. The bad call was actually on 3rd and goal. If Maurice Hicks carries the ball instead of Robinson, that's a first down, no doubt in my mind. Instead, the converted quarterback Robinson ran into the back of a Ram who was moving backwards. One lateral step and he's got the first down. Hicks would have made that move.

Show faith in the defense.....you mean the same defense that almost blew it in Seattle? I'm beginning to believe our defense lacks the stamina to complete an entire game.

"the defense that almost blew it in Seattle"??? Dude, did you watch the game? The defense saved the day after Gore's fumble, Nedney's missed field goal, etc. And, they had stopped the Rams pretty well for the first 56 minutes of the game. People keep saying "it was one inch." The difference between an a yard is meaningless if the play goes wrong. Nolan made the right call.
